A NARRATIVE APPROACH

Oliver Schick was born in 1969 in Darmstadt. At the end of the 19th century, the small German town was one of the most important places in the history of the Art Nouveau movement. Affected by the cultural heritage of his hometown, Schick studied product design at the HBK – University of Fine Arts and Design in Saarbrucken. In 2005, he founded his own studio with a focus on furniture, lighting, and interior design.

Reflecting on his approach to design, Schick says: “My aim is to design products with a timeless character that are easy to comprehend. They should be simple in use, in production, and even in their idea, without being boring or lifeless. In my opinion, the narrative aspect of a product is just as important as its function”.

For Wendelbo, Oliver Schick has designed the Poller Tables.
