Since the factory was established in 2007, social responsibility has been a part of the business concept. It was important for Wendelbo Interiors to ‘bring’ and implement good danish values such as equality, responsibility, and not least - good working conditions. As a foreign investor in a developing country, we have a social responsibility that is more far-reaching than if we had established ourselves in Europe. We believe that well-being and respect promotes motivation, job satisfaction and stability and thus impacts positively on our products, reputation and the communities we operate in.
The staff naturally work under the current laws with regard to working hours and conditions. Employees receive working clothes, a daily lunch and throughout the building there are vending machines with hot and cold water. Employees work in air-conditioned rooms where there are ergonomic chairs and tools available and furniture upholsterers work on rise/sink tables.

A gender balance of employees (there is currently a 50-50 male-female balance) and we aim to recruit disabled employees. Employees are offered an annual mandatory but personal health checkup. In addition there are ongoing HIV/AIDS seminars, first-aid and safety courses. We encourage training and education and set focus on english language tuition.

Employee satisfaction is very important to us. This is surely one of the main reasons why many of our first employees are still with us, and we enjoy arranging social gatherings both inside and outside working hours.
